Project description: Our generation have raised up on
promises of piece and wealth. We have been told that future awaits
for us, it's bright, it is ours, because we have degrees from
universities! We will have a good jobs, a fine life. And then
suddenly we found out it's not true. We are LOST GENERATION: Young,
qualified and jobless, a legion of youngsters, often highly
qualified people, entering a so-called job market that offers very
few hope of a job. Maybe being young is never easy. But being a
twenty something young European has been more stressful.
Unemployment, especially youth unemployment is a major problem in Europe. In many countries, youth unemployment is understood as a domestic issue, but proper lens is global. Worldwide, some 75 millions workers under age 25 were jobless last year. If we are not looking beyond the borders of our country, we are not seeing the big picture and whole problem. If we agree that problem of youth is an international problem, why not try to solve it together and fight against it internationally?
It seems to us very valuable and helpful to share experiences among young people from different countries. Non formal learning methods, friendly environment and international cooperation of young people during this youth exchange is perfect tool or opportunity to find solutions for this common problem. During this one week, youth exchange, workshops, games and intercultural activities will be waiting for us!
Save your generation! brings together 30 people from 6 different countries: Hungary, Denmark, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia and Italy. We will exchange ideas, opinions and personal experience about our involvement in the society we live in. The different activities proposed will promote the reflection about the role of youth as part of present and future Europe. This project will raise awareness about the necessity of further cooperation and promoting active citizenship.
Think globally, act locally and fight youth unemployment!
