Skills 4 success
Project description: “Skills 4 Success” is a mobility of youth workers, KA1 Training Course, under Erasmus+.There are thousands of non-profit organizations actively working for youth in Europe relying on Erasmus+ grants. Their ability to fulfil society needs depends increasingly on project-based funding. Nevertheless, while the livelihoods of many people depend on these organizations ability to deliver project results effectively and efficiently, project management (PM) is rarely identified as a strategic priority for many youth organizations. The non-profit sector is extremely diverse, heterogeneous and populated by organizations with hugely varied size, scope, targets, structures and motivations. Therefore, they face a lot of challenges which, together with absence of proper PM methodology, usually cause poor project planning, scarcity of accountability and stakeholder involvement, complexity of inter-related tasks, superficial risk management strategies, and especially unmotivated project team, youth workers/volunteers and eventually bad quality, losses of time and money.
On these basis funds the project ”Skills 4 Success” (S4S) focuses on promoting high-quality youth work aiming to provide youth workers all the necessary knowledge and Project Management (PM) tools to prove the benefits of an effective and proper PM and depict situation of the awareness and usage of different PM methodologies and tools in non-profit sector. The project aims to create innovative resources for youth work and equip youth workers with the necessary skills to manage a project in the most efficient way.
The project will involve 19 participants, 3 for each of the Partner Countries and 4 (2 trainers included) for Spain with no age limit.
The project is implemented by 6 organisations leaded by Asociación PROJUVEN and financed by the European Commission through Erasmus+ programme.
Participants: For the participants’ selection the following criteria will be taken into consideration:
- Demonstration of social sensibilities (socially active young people with a role in local communities and interested in developing and managing projects, dealing with youth)
- Interested to learn and apply a PM methodology in their daily work of youth workers/volunteers.
- Experienced or interested in working with Erasmus+ programme.
- Personal beliefs and attitudes (interest in actions of providing guidance to others and interacting effectively in a multicultural context, effort to generalize non-stereotyped behavior and to avoid prejudice)
Project activities: The training course will be facilitated by experienced trainers, using methods of non-formal learning and will include input sessions, experience-exchange sessions, reflection-groups and discussions. Trainers aim to use the resource of the participants’ as much as possible during the programme, therefore participants will be encouraged to share their knowledge, ideas and questions related to the topic. The working methods will be varied and interactive in order to ensure a balance between theory and practice, between information and application. Taking into account the diversity of the participants in terms of culture and working experience, the methods will provide an effective group communication and will allow all participants to fulfil their expectations and needs through a progressive and valuable intercultural learning experience.
