Diplomacy&Beyond: Giulia Secci
On 4 December the next event of Diplomacy & Beyond talk series will host Giulia Secci. The discussion focuses on China’s strategy in the Arctic and the fragmentation of the regional security complex in the High North.
Giulia Secci studies and collaborates with SIOI as tutor of the Master in Sustainable Development, Geopolitics of Resources and Arctic Studies, a title she will achieve in December 2022. A member of MSOI-UNYA Italy – the youth branch of SIOI – since 2017, she has been Vice-secretary and Treasurer for the MSOI Committee of Milan, later elected as National Advisor. Co-creator and co-host of the “UN Generation” podcast, she is currently the National Vice-coordinator of MSOI-UNYA Italy. After a B.A. in Communication and Society at the University of Milan and an internship at the Instituto Complutense de Estudios Internacionales in Madrid, she obtained a M.A. in International Relations, defending a thesis on China’s Arctic Policy and its legal and geopolitical implications with Professors Simone Dossi, Elena Conde Pérez and Alessandro Vitale. Giulia is member of European Guanxi, a think tank that aims to deepen the understanding and relations between China and Europe. Her working languages are Italian, English and Spanish; she also knows German and French, and has been studying Chinese since October 2021.
