Participation of women in democratic life

Project description: The project group consists of people who are sensitive to women’s rights. Our project group, being aware of social responsibility, has carried out some activities on women’s rights in local area. We concluded that EU projects are the most effective way to be more conscious of women’s right, more participatory and make a stride in international area. In spite of being disadvantageous about women’s rights, we decided on the subject “the participation of women in democratic life” because democratic participation and active citizenship underlie the advocacy of women’s rights. We determined our partners by announcing our subject on social media. Our project includes informing today’s women, promoting their active participation in democratic life and in decision-making bodies and preventing their social exclusions. Our partners are the organizations which are aware of women’s rights. After having negotiations with our partners, we decided to carry out the project on youth exchanges because we think that tomorrow’s adult women, mothers and voters are today’s young women. In order to be more influential women in the future, women need to be aware of their rights, active and organized. And also they need great support from men. We paid attention to equal gender distribution among the young in our project. There are 20 participants from 4 countries (Hungary, Portugal, Estonia and Turkey). These participants are the youngsters who have high potential social visibility but need support. The participants’ profile comprises of high school graduates, college students and also people who are new in business and managers, they all have social responsibility.
