BRAVE SKILLS: Building Resilience to Achieve Valuable Employability Skills

Project summary: The training course of “BRAVE SKILLS: Building Resilience to Achieve Valuable Employability Skills” is aimed at 28 youth workers and leaders from 8 EU countries (Turkey, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania and Portugal), wishing to improve their work within issues related with migration and youth and willing to share their best practices and challenges in the field.
During 7 days, March 2018, in Istanbul, Turkey, we will work on the issues of youth employability in Europe and neighbour countries raising the needs for a different coaching and supporting approach to be provided to young people for an easier access in the labour market; a set of psychological coaching tools to be used for the career coaching, building of resilience and betterment of young people through mediation, tutor presentations, group discussions, 1-2-1 coaching practice, reflective diaries, reflection, small group presentation and other creative methods of learning ; how to apply the techniques back home; what skills and attitudes will be required in making the real, long-lasting and positive impact on young people and best practices and innovative tools which participants will exchange during the course. As part of preparations to the course, participants will be asked to collect information on the context of youth unemployment, best practices and innovative tools in their own countries/regions/towns, etc.

The main aim of the training course is to develop key competences in the areas of applying key mindful coaching skills; awareness of our mind chatter/thinking traps and Gratitude; positive communication; building self-esteem for progress; increasing motivation and inspiration. Through sharing and interaction with one another, participants will also develop effective teamwork and collaboration skills, openness towards continual personal development and learning to learn, enhanced communication and motivational skills, key competences within emotional intelligence and supporting individuals through difficult times and knowledge of the ERASMUS+ programme, etc.
Besides above-mentioned competences specific to this training course participants are
expected to gain and improve the following skills of the Youth Pass certificate Communication in mother tongue: in their country group they will develop; Communication in foreign language: the most spoken language of the course will be English and also other languages of the involved countries Social and Civic competence: they will learn more on how to deal with society, enhance their sense of belonging to Europe and active participation Learning to Learn: they will improve their learning strategies Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship: activities will raise their proactivity and will to act and turn ideas into actions in their communities at local/international level. Cultural awareness and expression: in a multicultural environment they will develop these competences.

Methods of non-formal educations will be used in comfortable, interesting and effective working and leisure atmosphere, using methods such as group discussions, round tables, simulations, and activities stimulating creativity and participation.

Participants profile: Each sending organization will choose their participants according to their possibility to bring a positive impact to the project and capacity to contribute in the activities of the organization through the new knowledge and competences acquired.
The participants should be:
• youth workers, mentors, coaches (particularly at the entry levels), group leaders, representatives of informal youth groups;
• anyone who finds themselves in position of working with young people on the daily basis (either in voluntary or professional capacity), working in places as organizations, youth centres, public institutions, schools, universities and other relevant places which work on youth education.
