Games for Peace

Project background: This project was a brave attempt to organise an exchange where the main aim was to encourage young people to do sport and to start living healthy life. We planned to reach this aim by organising different kind of sport games and also to include the local people in the activities. The other important thing is that this project also aimed to spread the message of peace and to break the stereotypes and prejudices between the youngsters from different countries in the city of peace, Canakkale, place of huge importance for the entire world. We were delighted to organise the sport competitions in the name of the 100th anniversary of Canakkale battles.
Every year, Turkey celebrates March 18 as the anniversary of the Canakkale [Dardanelles] victory over the Entente. 2015 is the 100th anniversary of that legendary period. This is why we chose Canakkale, as a venue for our project, in the same time with this project, involving 40 youngsters from different countries, we want to share with the world, a message of peace and to highlight the importance of this year.
We want to encourage young people living in different countries to participate in our project under the frame of Erasmus + and through , using sport and outdoor activities, games and team works, to spread the message of peace and all together to show to the world the real example of peace.
