About the youth exchange

Kick-off for Social Inclusion 2 is a youth exchange aiming to emphasize the potential of sport as a key tool in breaking down social barriers and tackling the causes of marginalization and social exclusion of young people. Working in intercultural environment, by application of non-formal and informal methods, participants will have the opportunity to run workshops, simulation exercises, lead discussions, practise outdoor sport activities and exchange knowledge and experience peer-to-peer.
Project will include participants who are running amateur or recreational sport activities and also the ones facing social and economical obstacles, migrants or youngsters belonging to an ethnic minority.
Using the sport as a tool, participants are going to organize a public sport event, where they will play basketball, football or volleyball in mixed international teams together with students from Varena „Azuolas“ gymnasium. In this way locals will have the rare chance to feel the beauty of diversity and integration with youngsters coming from different countries, backgrounds and beliefs.
During this sport event participants will have the chance to socialize with local youngsters, discuss targeted topics,present the results of the  youth  exchange and the opportunitiesof the Erasmus+ programme.

Who can participate?

Each country will be represented by 5 people (4 participants and 1 group leader). The project is designed for young people between 17-23 years old who:
-Are able to communicate in English;
-Have interest in sports;
-Have desire for international communication, multiculturalism, teambuilding and dialog;
-See project impact on personal growth, everyday life and local community.

Motivation is the key! No need to be professional sports player, more important is motivation to be pro-active, participate in each session and contribute your best.Participants could also be amateur sport players, but have in mind that it is not an event for professionals, sports will be played together with youngsters with different sport abilities.
