Peace Agents

About the project, goal and methodology

With the youth exchange “Peace Agents” we strive to address – and change – the attitudes that make extremism and radicalization possible. That means building the capacity of motivated youngsters to promote tolerance, mutual understanding and to dispel misconceptions and false stereotypes. The project is centered to the idea that young people can positively contribute towards conflict prevention, the prevention of violent extremism and peace building. To achieve desired aim, we will use non-formal education methods, which include ice breaking activities, small team works, movie screening-discussion, simulation games, brainstorming, seeking for solutions, role-plays etc.

By implementing this project participating youth will learn about extremism and radicalization and explore its connection to the social exclusion. New competencies gained through participating in this project will also stimulate them to detect and respond properly to the hate speech cases, extremism and radicalization efforts. And, lastly, this project will promote youth interactions, networks and partnership, as well as raise awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries.

The mission of the project is to bring together youth from different countries to exchange ideas, knowledge, practices and experiences on how to build a more peaceful world, how to foster dialogue between the different people and inspire people to give contribution to the global peace, security and human rights where their live and work.
This project will promote deeper understanding of behave with tolerance, friendly coexistence of different religions, races and nations in the same community, respect each other in family, work place, society, school and etc. Main goal of the project is to promote PEACE and intercultural understanding, equality of opportunity , tolerance and peace among people of the world and to break down the barrier between culture and
people.

About the participants

In this project we will include 10 participants and 1 team leader from each partner organizations. Participants aged 18 to 30, no age limit for group leader. In total 44 youth in the project. Team leaders will be responsible for their group and their needs, and help facilitate whole project by giving advices, coordinating communication between us, project organizers and participants. Before departure to the venue team leader will be responsible to ensure proper thematic, cultural etc. preparation of participants.

As mentioned, each national team (participants) will be responsible for preparing several games and lead one or two thematic sessions during the project. During the APV meeting in October all group leaders will split tasks/sessions between national teams. Based on task division group leaders will prepare participants before departure. If needed we can recommend each national team for each session NFE methodology to lead the session. Why do we do this? Because youth active participation and engagement into the leading of the project is a best way for exploring new competencies, taking responsibilities and for learning and personal growth. On APV meeting will participate also 1 young participant with fewer opportunities.

We hope to see you in the project well-prepared, positive and motivated to learn and inspire each-other to start making positive transformation in terms of ecological awareness and lifestyle around the world.
