Restarting 21st century
Recent rapid societal changes are taking place globally that affect all aspects of people’s lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rapid societal changes are changes in human interactions and relationships that transform cultural and social institutions. Recently such changes can occur over a short period of time and often have profound and long-term consequences for society. Well-known examples of such change have resulted from social movements in civil rights, women’s rights, and minority rights, to name just a few. Relationships have changed, institutions have changed, and cultural norms have changed as a result of these social change movements.
ICRP’s series of online video lectures hosts experts of various fields who provide overview of recent events, new approaches and core concepts having an impact on our lives due to changes regarding COVID-19 by drawing attention on examples from various fields and regions. The lectures cover human rights issues, psychosocial disturbances, the changing role of media, new digital educational methods as well as predictions for the post-pandemic economy and international order.
