Six steps to global citizenship – a youth worker guide

“Six Steps to a Global Citizenship: a Youth Worker Guide” is a training course under the Key Action 1 of the Erasmus Plus Programme.

The project aims to foster global citizenship of young people based on their personal responsibility and active participation towards global development.

Youth workers need more capacity-building so that they can help young people to enhance their global citizenship competencies. They need to be equipped with tools and methods so that they could help youngsters to explore the links between the global issues and their daily lives and to motivate them to take an active role towards sustainable changes of the world.

– To improve the quality of youth work in Europe by introducing innovative ways and tools for promoting global citizenship among young people;
– To support the professional development of those active in youth work on promoting personal commitment and active participation of young people towards global development by mainstreaming the concept of global citizenship in youth work

The project is built on the results of the project “Six Steps to Global Citizenship” which applies the 6-steps approach to global citizenship.

The project engages 20 participants from 10 countries: Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Italy, Spain and Cyprus, with 2 trainers and 2 supporting staff, involved in educational process and logistics. There are 2 participants per country.  The project also engages at least 5 participants with fewer opportunities, arising due to social, cultural and geographical obstacles.

The target groups of the participants include:
